Lake Lytal Spring League
With over a hundred girls participating in teams ranging from 8 and under to 14 and over, the Lake Lytal Spring League is in full swing.  Pictured below is just a few of the teams participating.
Lake Lytal Heat Plays First International Game

(West Palm Beach, Fl — March 7, 2008)

Girls playing for the Lake Lytal Heat got a taste of international relations when they played a team from Montreal, Quebec, Canada Friday night, March 7, 2008.  The Canadian team had been in Palm Beach County, FL all week training during their winter-break.

The Heat girls had no problem striking up friendships with the girls of TeamCanada, which spoke predominately French.  Both teams were looking to play some competitive softball before their seasons started in the spring.

TeamCanada went up 2-1 at the end of the first inning.  The Heat scored two runs in the bottom of the third to go ahead 3-2.  In the top of the fourth, TeamCanada scored a run to tie the game 3-3.

Bottom of the fourth, game time expired;  with one out, two girls on base, the Heat stole home on a ball pass the catcher to win the game 4-3.  Following the hard-fought game, the girls exchanged gifts and spent time doing what girls love to do best, (other than play softball) — talk.

Spring Season
Open with a Cookout
The hundred or so girls couldn't wait for opening ceremonies to be over.  Waiting for them was a vast array of food in the traditional Lake Lytal cookout.

Parents had brought their favorite recipes, the newly acquired grill was fired up cooking taste- tempting dogs and burgers and the line moved quickly as players and parents welcomed the new season.
